Prof Renate Weller, DVM, PhD, MScVetEd, FHEA, NTF, ECVSMR, ACVSMR, MRCVS, RCVS Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging
Renate has worked as an equine vet in several different countries in ambulatory and referral settings. Until recently she has been employed as Professor of Imaging and Biomechanics at the Royal Veterinary College where she has split her time between clinical work, research and teaching and was also founding director of the graduate diploma in equine locomotor research for farriers. She is an RCVS specialist in Diagnostic Imaging and a diplomate of the European and American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. She holds a PhD in biomechanics and has been inducted in the International Hall of Fame of Equine Veterinarians. She has a Masters in Veterinary Education and has been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship for her contribution to teaching and learning. She has authored over 100 articles and has contributed to books, online resources and mobile phone applications in her field of expertise. She is a well sought after speaker at national and international meetings and is known for her informative, but also very entertaining lectures. In her spare time she likes to go horse riding, playing table tennis and baking cakes.
